Portarlington Redevelopment

BCH received $2 million in Commonwealth funding following the 2019 Federal election. These funds were assigned to upgrade an ageing wing of the  Portarlington Community Health Centre.

The redevelopment of this Community Health facility is now complete, and the building was officially opened by Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Ged Kearney MP on Friday 21 May 2023.

COVID-19 impact

The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically impacted construction costs.
It has been challenging to work within our funding budget.
To meet budget requirements, we reviewed some features from the original plans.
This included a reduction in the original building size and deletion of some asthetic aspects.
