The editor of The Big Issue, Amy Hetherington will be guest speaker at a community event being run by Bellarine Community Health to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Ms Hetherington is an experienced journalist who has worked as an editor, sub-editor, reporter, photo editor and columnist for more than 20 years across several well-known magazines.
She also spent time as the business development director for a content agency, working throughout Australia, China and Hong Kong.
Plus she led the charge to set a Guinness World Record in knitting!
She now heads an organisation that supports marginalised and disadvantaged people.
Almost 50,000 Australian women are homeless every night, and domestic and family violence is the largest single cause of homelessness.
